2014 West Wight Potter. If you don’t know about these boats, then read up. The cult-like following is infectious! We bought our Potter almost 3 years ago with virtually zero sailing experience. The Potter is a trailerable sailboat with a “drop keel” this means it’s very easy to launch, easy to haul, and can even beach it on the shores of the lake. We have taken out Potter all over Lake Mead on multi day excursions, and have taken it to different Channel Islands off the coast of California. She sails beautiful, is very sturdy, and is beautiful inside and out. Boat is setup with solar panels that can be mounted on front rail (have mounting hardware and takes just a few minutes to setup), or have a 50w flexible panel that can go anywhere on deck. It is wired for either or both simultaneously. 100ah Renogy lithium battery insures you’ll never run out of power. The electric 23 quart fridge keeps food and drinks cold without dealing with ice. There is a cassette toilet, pump sink with large water bladder, and single burner butane cooktop. This boat sleeps two no problem, and we have had 3 on multi day trips more then a few times. We love our boat, but it’s time to upgrade. It did what it was supposed to do. Made us sailors! This is the perfect boat to learn on, to take on adventures, it’s so easy to setup, move around, and easy to sail. Boat also has a Tohatsu 5hp with the 6hp carb kit. This also has bolt on turn lock which keeps the motor straight when underway. Have a small inflatable 10’ dingy that we take on the deck, then mount the motor on so we can go explore while leaving the sailboat at anchor. One of the slats is broken, been used to scuba dive off, but works wonderfully. Comes with foot pump and storage bag. The bad: Couple of small scratches Rubber bumper runner is scuffed Dingyhas broken slat (easily repairable but it never bothered me so I didn’t) Too many extras to list. Life jackets, full safety kit to make you legal, lots of extra rigging hardware, VHF handheld, spare parts, electric steering I never installed, and has two anchors. One of the anchors is a way oversized Mantus anchor with 30 ft of chain and over 100ft of rode. This anchor helped us sleep well at night, it never moved and we had some “exciting weather” in the Channel Islands.
